Bloody Ice Guard Miles

1. Overview

Miles
Title
Gender Male
Race Human
Affiliation Bloody Ice Guard
Occupation Guard
Location Bloody Ice
Age 24
Personality Straightforward
블러디아이스 가드.png

2. Background Story

Miles is a young man from a harmonious family, serving as a guard in Bloody Ice. He finds standing watch in the freezing cold tedious. Since most monsters in Bloody Ice are undead, Miles, who despises the undead, is particularly disgusted. His younger brother works as a scout in Pontus Ferrum.

3. Role in In-Game Quests

Bloody Ice
After completing the rank-up test, Miles approaches you first. He says he’s been looking for the most promising trainee and asks for a volunteer. He explains that the residents are suffering because of the sudden increase in Skorugs near the Colony and asks you to eliminate them. After you deal with the Skorugs, he seems impressed and asks to stay friends and help each other in the future.

First Encounter
Miles and Eric visit together, revealing they are gathering people who oppose the sages. They fear that if Nevareth changes according to the sages’ plans, life will become even more painful. After consulting with Aizan/Elena and agreeing to help, Miles grumbles about the sages but doesn’t refuse your assistance.

Mechanical Monster Weapon
Miles calls you over, complaining of a headache caused by his missing brother. His brother, who also worked as a guard, has gone silent. Miles never imagined something like this would happen to his family and asks for your help. His brother was a scout in Pontus Ferrum, and their mother gave him a charm for protection. Miles asks you to bring back the charm if you find his brother. When you return the charm, Miles is shaken but insists his brother will come back and rushes off. Later, Eric provides more details.
When you meet him again, Miles is no longer grieving but furious, demanding to confront Turner. He blames the sages for everything and vows to take matters into his own hands, warning you that siding with the sages will make you an enemy of the colony.
When you accompany Miles to confront the sages, they scold him for his insolence, but Miles lashes out, accusing them of causing this mess through their power struggles and demanding an end to the war. The sages warn that without sacrifice now, the future will bring ruin, but Miles ignores them and storms off. Later, after the attempted kidnapping of a Sage, Miles accuses you of following the sages’ orders. When you show him his brother’s drawing found at the scene, he denies any involvement in the abduction.

General Quests
Miles is increasingly troubled by the growing number of Ape Zombies, which the guards can no longer handle. He asks you to eliminate them before they fully turn into zombies. After you wipe them out, Miles says he hopes for a peaceful world as soon as possible.

Miles despises undead monsters, saying even their gaze feels like it steals his soul. He claims that if not for vampires, Nevareth wouldn’t have fallen so far and reveals his plan to eradicate them. Since vampires have existed in groups for ages, he insists they must fight back in the same way. Miles asks you to hunt Vampire Servants, explaining that breaking their hierarchy will weaken them.

2. Background Story

3. Role in In-Game Quests

First Encounter
Eric and Miles approach you together, revealing they are gathering people who oppose the sages. They fear that if Nevareth changes according to the sages’ plans, life will become even more painful.

Mechanical Monster Weapon
Eric informs you that Miles’s mother collapsed from worry. He volunteers to help search for Miles’s missing brother, but his idea of helping is asking you to question other village guards about the brother’s whereabouts rather than searching himself.

General Quests
Eric mentions that you’re well-known for helping Colony guards and asks you to check on his father Mitrof when you visit Green Despair. Mitrof expresses concern about his son being stationed in the frigid Bloody Ice, especially since Eric used to catch colds frequently. Eventually, Mitrof accepts that Eric has grown and stops worrying.

Eric is considered trustworthy by his peers—though some say it’s because he delegates guard duties to warriors like you.

Rune Agent Plasha

1. Overview

Plasha
Title
Gender Male
Race Human
Affiliation Mage Guild
Occupation Rune Agent
Location Bloody Ice
Age 33
Personality Boastful
룬 에이젼트 플라샤.png

2. Background Story

A Rune Agent is someone who combines Essence Runes and Cores to create Blended Runes. Don’t understand? Most people react the same way. The concept of Blended Runes began with an announcement by Dr. Altone, the chief researcher at LOPI. However, creating Blended Runes is extremely difficult, and Plasha’s research seems endless. He continues experimenting in Bloody Ice, hoping to achieve results worthy of recognition.

3. Role in In-Game Quests

Suspicious Sage
When asked about Turner, Plasha speaks as if he knows the savior well. He says Turner is very busy and wishes people would bother him less. Plasha mentions that a friend of his was saved by the savior’s healing and then shares Turner’s location with you.

Mechanical Monster Weapon
When you ask about Turner’s whereabouts, Plasha provides the location.

Hell on Earth
When asked about Turner again, Plasha tells you to ask him directly. It turns out Plasha also finds Turner intimidating and knows very little about him.

General Quests
Plasha is dejected after the Thieves’ Guild raids his lab and steals research materials. He wants the stolen items recovered but can’t handle it alone because the guild breeds Lynxhorn Zombie Leaders. To persuade you to take the job, Plasha reveals where the thieves hide their loot. When you return the stolen documents, he thanks you and resumes his work.

Later, while devising a new research method, Plasha struggles to obtain necessary materials. He’s frustrated because Ape Zombies have devoured all the Ghost Flowers he needs. After you bring him the flowers, he hopes the experiment proceeds as hypothesized.

Plasha explains what a Rune Agent does: they use Rune Technology to unlock warriors’ Soul Abilities—their latent potential. Soul Ability refers to the hidden power warriors draw out during training. Research on this is still incomplete, so fully unlocking potential is currently impossible. Soul Abilities are divided into Essence and Blended types. Applying Blended Abilities requires AP and Cores, as specific core technologies must be applied to certain Essence Runes to produce Blended Runes. Unfortunately, Blended Abilities are complex and unstable, resulting in random, unpredictable outcomes.
Essence-type items are obtained from Essence Runes dropped during monster hunts. Like all equipment, these vary widely in maximum potential, required AP, and number of cores.

Magic Merchant Keller

1. Overview

Keller
Title
Gender Female
Race Human
Affiliation Bloody Ice
Occupation Core Alchemist
Location Bloody Ice
Age 22
Personality Tomboyish and extremely forgetful
마법상인 켈러.png

2. Background Story

Keller is a Core Alchemist unaffiliated with the Tower of Sages. She mainly sells accessories and Return Stones in Bloody Ice. Her forgetfulness is so notorious that it’s known throughout Nevareth. Although Keller tries to overcome it, her efforts seem fruitless. Despite this flaw, she is widely recognized as a master of core technology.

3. Role in In-Game Quests

Bloody Ice
You first meet Keller after joining the Special Combat Colony as a trainee. She teaches you about item attribute enhancement and core upgrades. Later, she asks you to gather herbs to treat a flu outbreak in Bloody Ice.

The King’s Consort and the Guardian Knight
Sirius mentions Keller’s connection to Hale. Keller explains that Hale disappeared due to debts from gambling and suggests that Nodaka might know his whereabouts.

Burying the Sorrow
Keller receives an order for Glacier Herbs and promises to deliver them to the specified location.

General Quests
Keller is delighted when you deliver cactus fruit sent by Sullivan, saying she wishes her next birthday would come soon. She panics after forgetting to send magical materials to Nodaka in Green Despair and asks you to deliver them. Nodaka remarks that Keller’s orders are never complete the first time due to her chronic forgetfulness.

Keller introduces a new core technology: a method to release the power sealed within artifacts. However, only a few monsters possess such power, and the technique is still in its infancy, making it difficult to use. So far, it’s confirmed to work only with Mergahph. If you’re interested, she asks you to bring her Mergahph’s Ring.
She also knows how to extract amygdala cells from a monster’s limbic system. If you bring her Black Cat’s Tears and Mergahph’s Ring, she will craft Killian’s Ring for you.

Keller explains that Nevareth’s humans and monster clans are in a tense standoff, with conflicts erupting everywhere. Recently, the Undead Ground has emerged, and Capella and Procyon are vying for influence. Rumors spread that the fangs of Raihorn Zombies possess mysterious power. Keller wants to sell necklaces made from these fangs and asks you to collect them.
She disapproves of the fight between Procyon and Capella over the sages’ legacy and hasn’t decided which side to support. Believing that resource stockpiling is crucial before war breaks out, she asks you to gather Elder Specter Hair, an essential ingredient for top-grade recovery potions, which will skyrocket in price during wartime.
Keller’s forgetfulness is legendary. Recently, she heard that grinding scales and eating them improves memory and asks you to fetch Frozen Zombie Fighter Scales from the Tower of the Dead B1F. After obtaining them, she eagerly awaits the day her forgetfulness disappears.
Keller shares an intriguing fact: human magic is designed to help people, but monster magic is fundamentally different. Monsters are born with immense power. Curious about the power of the Bloody Orc Mage in Lakeside, Keller asks you to collect its blood sample. When you return with it, she’s thrilled, saying she now has the motivation to continue her research.
She also asks for Zombie General Hide, claiming it will help her memory, and later requests Armaph Leaves from Mutant Forest to soothe her sore throat caused by laryngitis. Fearing her voice might change permanently, she brews tea from the leaves and feels relieved.
Keller even attempts to create a living magical weapon using Robatum’s Heart and Entrita’s Core from Mutant Forest. Finally, she abruptly asks you to wake up and hunt Penzeonil, the leader of the first Griffin legion.

He boasts that Midreth’s metalworking techniques are the best in the world and takes pride in his armor craftsmanship. However, life in Bloody Ice is undeniably harsh. Recently, Simon lost his beloved grandson to zombies.

3. Role in In-Game Quests

Bloody Ice
You first meet Simon after joining the Special Combat Colony as a trainee.

Suspicious Sage
When asked about the savior, Simon worries that the man might be falsely accused. He thinks the title others use is too grand and insists the savior is just a kind young man, not a bad person—because the sage treats war casualties for free. Now, even more wounded soldiers are flocking to Midreth for his healing. Simon doesn’t know the sage’s exact location but suggests Plasha might.

General Quests
Simon takes great pride in his work, believing every warrior should wear his armor. This bold claim escalates into a challenge where you end up meeting armor masters across Nevareth. Simon tells you to ask Dion, the armor merchant in Desert Scream, about his skills. Dion claims he’s the best for Wizard armor, while Collins in Green Despair fumes at Simon’s arrogance. Only Ryeong handles it maturely, saying that while they compete, they also help each other—making the whole situation rather amusing.
Simon later worries about his missing grandson, who vanished in the zombie village. All you find is a single shoe—the one Simon once gifted him. Simon is speechless, having hoped his grandson would return alive.
Simon also mentions that the Tower of the Dead B1F is even colder than Bloody Ice. He heard that defeating Ice Ghoul Warriors and Ice Zombie Ladies there might reveal a way to withstand the cold and suggests you try. Of course, it doesn’t work.

Not all warriors choose a life of adventure. Some seek stability as they age. Hodor made such a decision. Once a renowned warrior in Nevareth, he retired after realizing his limits. However, retirement didn’t mean abandoning his warrior identity. Hodor had no interest in becoming a merchant or peddler. Fortunately, his combat skills were still valuable, and Nevareth offered opportunities for people like him—one being the Merchant Guild. The guild, handling vast amounts of gold, often faced bandit raids and monster attacks during trade routes. They welcomed Hodor’s strength. Now, he works as a bodyguard for Yekaterina in Bloody Ice.

3. Role in In-Game Quests

Hodor asks you to deliver payment for goods consigned to General Merchant Rivet. Rivet, having forgotten about the consignment, is delighted to receive money even after deducting the commission.

While pondering his future, Hodor appeared and introduced him to a new path. Herserf joined the Merchant Guild and, after several assignments, now serves as Yekaterina’s bodyguard in Bloody Ice.

3. Role in In-Game Quests

No one knows who installed this machine in Bloody Ice. Some speculate it’s an ancient relic placed by the Tower of Sages due to its unique design. However, this theory fails to explain why no other Special Combat Colony has such a device.
Most people don’t question it anymore, as the machine works flawlessly and has become part of the scenery. Still, it occasionally confuses visitors unfamiliar with its functions.

3. Role in In-Game Quests

Age 46
Personality Strict and principled
오피서 헨코프.png

2. Background Story

Henkov serves at the special combat Colony in Bloody Ice, located in the northernmost part of Midreth, under the jurisdiction of the Police. He helps new recruits adapt to life in Nevareth, relaying news from the Tower of Sages and external sources. Henkov also has ties to Sage Sirius.

3. Role in In-Game Quests

Bloody Ice
Due to manpower shortages in Bloody Ice, Henkov supports you indirectly rather than assisting personally. You first meet him when joining the Special Combat Colony as a trainee. He teaches you how to read maps, introduces the town, provides potions and settlement funds, and assigns an instructor for training. He also helps you through the rank-up process. After completing the Warrior’s Oath, he introduces the Collection system and gives you a weapon.

Phenomenon Anomaly
When you return to Bloody Ice at Hale’s request, Henkov is overwhelmed by multiple crises: Thieves’ Guild raids, a spreading plague, rising zombie numbers, and missing persons. He is shocked upon receiving Hale’s analysis report linking the plague to zombies. Henkov asks you to investigate, leading to the discovery that missing plague victims have turned into zombies. To prevent the epidemic from spreading across Nevareth, the Colony Alliance and Police decide to burn the quarantine camps. Henkov entrusts you with this grim task and later thanks you, granting you rest in Green Despair.

Provocation of the Monster Clans
Henkov urgently sends you to Green Despair. After reading Beradrix’s letter, he understands the situation but refuses Nine’s request for protection due to lack of troops. Instead, he dispatches scouts, who later report finding a vampire nest in Bloody Ice’s mining area.

Excavating the Source of the Great Catastrophe
When the Tower of Sages is destroyed, Henkov is horrified and fears an even greater disaster, worrying about Nevareth’s future. Soon after, he sends you to speak with Warehouse Guard Fisher about an urgent matter.

General Quests
Henkov, perhaps due to age, holds conservative views. He believes warriors must constantly train to avoid stagnation. He shares stories of a mysterious adventurer who warned officials about enemies as strong as the Demon King before dying. Among the adventurer’s belongings was an old journal describing a facility believed to predate the Honorable Age, now infested with monsters. Henkov orders an investigation, granting you the key to what later becomes known as the Chaos Arena.
He also shows interest in ancient Nevareth records, asking you to investigate inscriptions found in desert ruins that might foretell the chaos engulfing the world.
Henkov presents official notices from the Allied Nations, explaining that Capella and Procyon send irregular directives for dungeon exploration and warrior training. One such order tasks you with eliminating Werewolves in the Tower of the Dead B1F.
He laments the coming war, fearing humanity’s obsession with conflict blinds them to the lingering monster threat. To reduce risks, he asks you to slay Wraiths, the strongest monsters in the Undead Ground.
Henkov introduces the Eternal Chaos Arena as a training ground, where collecting 10 Fragments of Chaos allows Chloe to craft a Chaos Core.
Though once a famed warrior, Henkov admits his fear of Tartaminos. After you defeat it, he shares its legend and warns about being trapped in Illusion Castle Underworld.
Suspicious of Ape Zombies’ aggression, Henkov rejects the Tower’s experimental findings and seeks proof. He asks you to collect Ape Zombie blood to confirm their violent tendencies.
He assigns you to hunt Queen Sienna of the Plant Clan and later encourages you to test your strength in Pontus Ferrum, a region dominated by the Metal Clan and filled with mechanical monsters.
Henkov reveals access to the Undead Ground, a region ruled by the Undead Clan. Entry to the Tower of the Dead, located at its center, requires a special item called the Epaulet of the Dead, which occasionally drops during hunts. The tower consists of two floors, and Henkov provides the entry pass.
Finally, he asks you to thwart a conspiracy in the Tower of the Dead B3F, home to the Undead Clan’s ruler plotting an invasion of Nevareth, and gives you the necessary access tools.

2. Background Story

Yekaterina was a prodigy in the merchant world, personally trained by the Merchant Guild Master. Many believed she would one day dominate Nevareth’s trade industry. However, she shocked everyone by suddenly settling in Bloody Ice.
During a trading expedition to Bloody Ice, Yekaterina witnessed an unusual scene: the Special Combat Colony overflowed with monster byproducts like hides and bones, while adventurers desperately needed potions and return stones. People had plenty of reasons to trade but lacked a system to match supply with demand.
At that moment, inspiration struck. Yekaterina realized the untapped commercial potential of Bloody Ice—and that she was the only one who saw it. She calculated how much gold could be earned in this snow-covered land and decided to stay.
Since then, Bloody Ice has become bustling with activity. Of course, like all success stories, there’s a shadow: no one knows how Pruit, the former resident, ended up giving his house to Yekaterina—or where he went afterward.

The harsh cold of Bloody Ice is enough to make even the strongest young warriors shudder, so it’s no surprise that O’Connor disliked being stationed there in his old age. Nevertheless, he never forgot his duty: to train warriors passing through the Colony and ensure they hone their skills. He also takes a personal interest in local issues, often stepping in to resolve them.

3. Role in In-Game Quests

Bloody Ice
You first meet O’Connor when joining the Special Combat Colony as a trainee. He teaches combat techniques, skill usage, and how to operate warp gates. He recalls a wealthy man’s son who died exploring Bloody Ice, leaving behind a pack rumored to contain a rare Red Diamond. Dayton believes a zombie might have it and asks you to retrieve it. When you bring the diamond, he’s overjoyed, saying his daughter will love it.

- Concerned about the coming harsh winter, Dayton asks you to gather coal dust for heating. However, the Lynxhorn Zombie Leader has taken over the mine, so he asks you to collect the coal dust stuck to its body.
- With unrest spreading across Nevareth, charms are selling like hotcakes, especially those made with Skeleton Warrior horns. Dayton asks you to bring Skeleton Warrior bones so he can craft them.

Excavating the Source of the Great Catastrophe
Fisher informs you that someone named Lin has sent an urgent message from the Undead Ground.

Signs of War

This makes Bloody Ice accessible only to the strongest warriors. Fisher fears this might be a sign of an impending catastrophe. Rumors spread that the cold is a curse from monsters dwelling in the Land of Death. Though Fisher doesn’t believe it, he asks you to slay Berserk Ghouls to calm public fear. However, even after eliminating them, nothing changes.
